Greene to host Plattsburgh town hall event

February 21, 2012 - Chris Morris
Conservative Republican Kellie Greene is looking to ramp up her ground game with a town hall-style meeting in Plattsburgh on Thursday.

Greene, of Sackets Harbor, is seeking the Republican line in this year's race for the 23rd Congressional District, currently represented by Democrat Bill Owens.

This is Greene's first appearance in Plattsburgh since formally announcing her candidacy on Feb. 1.

"I am really looking forward to getting out and meeting the people on the other side of our district and I hope that they will come out to meet me," Greene said in a press release. "I want to know what concerns voters there the most and talk about ideas to address those concerns."

The forum is slated for 6 p.m. at Plattsburgh City Hall and is open to the public. Prior to the town hall meeting, Greene will speak to a political science class at Plattsburgh State University.

She calls herself a "principled conservative". That's an oxymoron if I ever heard one.
